MONDAY APRIL 17 - "YourPlace...or Mine?"
The Hit Comedy About Online Social Networks.
Back by popular demand, Come and experience a band from Romania,
a librarian dominatrix, a girl who only adds "Jimmys", a man
who finds himself obsessed with online stalking, and many,
many more hilarious characters.
9:00 pm at Solaris Tapas Restaurant & Bar, in Downtown
Greensboro. Admission $5. Seating starts at 8:30, or have
dinner/drinks first!
JANUARY. 27-FEBRUARY 13 2006 - 4th
Annual Greensboro Fringe Festival will sweep through town
showcasing three weeks of original works by local theatrical
and performance artists.
After a year and a half of stubbornness
with the IRS, American Distractions finally received it's
federal tax exempt status, retroactive back to May 27, 2003

Fringe Festival

An inspiring collection of original works performed by a
multitude of triad artists, including dancers, musicians,
actors, and visual artists whose works were hung for the grand
opening of the gallery portion of the The
Werehouse, in Winston-Salem. See the

2nd Annual Greensboro Fringe Festival
January 29 - February 15, 2004
The 2004 Greensboro
Fringe Festival, bigger and better than last year's, with
double the performances and lots of new works by local artists!
Friday, Feb. 6 & Friday Feb. 13 - American
Distractions presents Give It Up, Turn It Loose,
a play in monologues by Kim Moore. The show is directed by
Brandon Cardinal and performed by The Royal Upstarts Ensemble
Theatre. The show starts at 8 pm at The Broach Theatre. Here's

AD Art on Display
January 2002 - Present
Visual art is currently on display at the Broach Theatre,
520 S. Elm St. in downtown Greensboro. It features digital
prints of photographs and paintings by G. Todd Buker, Tristan
Chaika, Robert MacCready, Brandon Pierce, and Brian Zegeer.
Greensboro Fringe Festival '03
January 24 - February 8, 2003
What a success! A three week showcase of locally written
and preformed theatre and dance. You can check

Nearly 1000 people were in attendance over the three weekends.
The Involved companies were: American Distractions, The
Royal Upstarts, Greensboro
Playwrights Forum, The Informall Theatre Company, and

Visual Art Show by Brandon Pierce at the Marshal
Gallery
January 2-12, 2003
This solo show featured photographic and digital works as
well as paintings by A.D. Director Brandon Pierce. The gallery
is located at 710 W. Market St. in downtown Greensboro. The
opening,January 2nd, 7-9 pm, featured
Live Jazz with the Michael Collings and David Menestres, and
free wine. Thank you all who came.
Over Exposure
November 13-14, 2002
If you missed it, you should spank yourself. It was an extravaganza
of music and madness in which tons of musicians and artists
gathered to expose themselves. Commander Squish Productions
hosted the event, a veritable horn-of-plenty spanning a variety
of genres from symphonic to electronic, hip-hop to gospel,
folk to rock. Performers included Nate Weida, Brian Kennedy,
Dave Parnell, Michael Collings, Brutha Monk, the Spartones,
The Amazing Wes Brown, a nine-guitar rock armada, American
Distractions (who co-hosted the event), and more! Over Exposure
was held at the UNCG Music Recital Hall.
Music-X-Change Nights
May 2001- May 2002
These are, after a year of loud music and libation, sadly
no longer happening. American Distractions hosted eclectic
live music at the Exchange the first Thursday of every month,
packing the house every night, while music fans and socialites
got drunk and went tastefully insane.
$20 or Less Art Show
April 1-30, 2002
This AD gallery show at Cup-o-Joe on Tate St. Art featured
a wide array of artists' works ranged from original paintings
to photographs to digital prints. Everything on the wall was
$20 or less. Live music and a poetry reading headed off the
event. Check

New York Pizza Benefit
March 7, 2002 - 9 PM
We hosted a benefit show for New York Pizza, a restaurant
that had suffered damage from a major fire. The show was at
the Exchange. Check

An Evening of Short Plays
February 1-2, 2002 - 8 PM
Our first theater event was produced by American Distractions
and The Royal Upstarts Theatre Company, and featured six dramatic
scripts by local NC playwrights. It was held at the Broach
Theatre in downtown Greensboro. Much to the delight of everyone
involved, the show was a huge success and sold out both nights!

Will Be Alright
A comedy rock-opera about a comic book town that loses its
super hero and has to redefine its morals.
The New Hopeville Comics: Live at the 2002 New York International

90.9 FM 2001-03.
