(Still under construction, sorry)

The Royal Upstarts were created several years ago to produce quality theatre that would be inexpensive, not only for the audience, but also the producers. With a core group of students, recently graduating from UNCG, our goals were to keep out-of-work theatre artists active, promote the talents of our group and produce shows that have not been seen before in this area, outside of the world of academia.

This opportunity to pair with American Distractions and create original material was a new idea for us. In the past we have focused on "Off (or off - off) Brodway" shows, written in the last fifty years, that have greatly effected today's theatre world.

Past shows include: Dario Fo's Woman Alone, and Edward Albee's The Zoo Story.
Future shows include: Sam Shepard's Cowboy Mouth and Israel Horovitz's Line.
